Writing Assignments

Parents,

Below is the BCS district writing rubric for 1^st grade writing assessments.

Please notice that there is a new rubric for each quarter!  Students should be writing and answering questions with complete sentences. Many times, you will see me use the following abbreviations: C. U. P. S. S.

C- capital letter where needed

U-understanding (the sentence makes sense)

P-punctuation (ending mark)

S-spacing between words and spelling (grade appropriate)

S- grade level appropriate

Please practice this with your child as you assist with homework.
