Enjoy food, fun, arts & crafts, face painting, and magic! Sign up for the Read For Your School Competition and earn 10 extra beads to go towards our school totals! Enjoy food trucks and a magic show at 11:00 with Magic Mr. Nick!

Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation is partnering with the Tennessee Department of Education to provide at-home reading resources for free to all Tennessee families of K–2 children to help young learners become stronger readers. Based on your child’s grade level, they will receive the At-Home Decodable Book Series, a collection of seven booklets containing 20+ exciting stories full of sounds and words to practice, and age-appropriate, high-quality Scholastic books.

Oak Reading Challenge to 1.5 million minutes
Research proves that a family that reads together helps children develop a love of reading and therefore performs better in school and after. It is recommended that students read independently, read aloud to a family member or listen while a loved one reads to them for at least 20 minutes a day. In a 30-day month that is 600 minutes. Just imagine how that helps with vocabulary building and great discussions!
